Most moms get a little extra love in May (well-deserved), but May is also National Foster Care Month—so we wanted to give a little extra shout out to a group of mamas doing some insanely difficult and awesome momming. Because foster moms don’t always get the same recognition and appreciation.
By the time you begin chasing a toddler around the house (if not before), the term “mom tribe” has found you. Social media algorithms single you out for ads. A friend or coworker asks if you’re in one. Or maybe you’ve expressed a common frustration and an older, more experienced mom, recommends finding one. But what is a “mom tribe,” really? And do you actually need one?
It’s safe to say that life has changed dramatically in the last month or so. So many of us are suddenly working from home, while also parenting 24/7, and tutoring our kids in every subject. But you can do it. It comes down to prioritizing what’s foundational, making a good plan, collecting the right resources, and being prepared to laugh at your mistakes.
